Coming into Saturday the big question is whether or not the Florida ranked # 1, No Excuses, will finally be able to capture the highly coveted team title, or will the 2 time-defending champions from Boca be able to 3 peat?

 The Favorite: No Excuses

The girls from North Florida have been on a roll this year with team wins at the Eagles on the River 3k, the Bale N Trail Invitational, Katie Caples, and most recently the Berry 3k. They have 6 runners at 12:00 or under and are lead by 11:05 girl Sydney Johnson. In 2020 they placed 2nd, just 4 points behind the race winners the Boca Warriors. In 2021 they placed 5th behind Boca Warriors, Miami Elite, the Hillsborough Harriers, and the Ocala Distance Project. Will this be the year they take the gold?

The Top Contender: Boca Warriors

I wouldn’t be so quick to consider these girls the underdog. On paper, they will have a huge deficit to overcome in positions 4 and 5, but they have history on their side. Runners 1-3 for Boca were all top 10 finishers in the 2021 state meet, and have been running comparatively better than last year. If they can find help from positions 4 and 5 they might be able to squeak out another win.

Do You know where your athlete is running?

With the recent events in the news about runners being harassed and even abducted, it is important that families have a piece of mind when their athlete is out on the road. Garmin has created a watch that will allow you to track your runner, without the need for them to carry a cell phone. The Garmin Fenix 945 LTE is one of our favorite products, and we consider it a must-have for runners everywhere.
