The Creekside girls cross country team showed why they’re considered one of the top programs in Florida, taking a commanding victory at the Cecil Field Classic on Saturday. Led by junior Alyson Johnson’s individual win, the Knights put five runners in the top 42 to score 96 points and easily outpace runner-up Ponte Vedra (131 points).

Johnson crossed the line first in 18:00, 13 seconds ahead of Spruce Creek’s Mackenzie Roy. The Knights displayed impressive depth, with Sydney Johnson (6th, 18:37), Sarah Rose (17th, 19:37), Hadleigh Roberts (30th, 20:00) and Abigail Clark (42nd, 20:24) rounding out their scoring five.

Ponte Vedra was paced by junior Daisy Ross in 5th place (18:28). The Sharks had a tight pack, with their top 5 finishing within 2:15 of each other. Vanguard (Ocala) took third with 150 points, led by Pippa Worden’s 22nd place finish.

Other top individual performances came from Lake Highland Prep 8th grader Annabella Tomasic in 3rd (18:18) and Spruce Creek junior Arianna Roy in 4th (18:25). The Roy sisters gave Spruce Creek a potent 1-2 punch up front.
