Team Rankings:
Commentary: Hello all and welcome back to round one of the 2A rankings. We are just getting started on the season. Many top ranked teams haven’t raced yet, so a lot of guess work went into this round. But we still have a general idea of what we are working with.
Rank. (Previous Rank) School = Comments
- (NA) Bishop Kenny HS – BK starts the season in the same position that they ended it last year, ranked first. They kicked their season off at the Middleburg Bronco Classic and earned a 2nd place finish behind Ponte Vedra HS.
- Bolles HS = Bolles doesn’t seem to have raced their A Team yet, and even so, they are still ranked in the 2A Virtual Meet scoring. They opened up their season with a 14th place finish at the Cecil Field Summer Classic. Hopefully we get to see them at full strength soon.
- Episcopal School of Jacksonville – The haven’t raced yet this season, but they finished 3rd at the stat meet last year and should return virtually their entire top 7.
- Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart (My Team) – We opened up our season with a 3rd place finish at the Park Vista Cobra XC Invite. We were missing 2 of our top 5 returners, which included last year’s 5th place finisher Grace Aldrich. We should be running a full squad in the next couple weeks.
- Bishop Verot HS – They haven’t raced yet, but with UF commit Mackenzie De Lisle leading the way, they should be one of the top squads in the state again this year.
- Berkley Prep HS – They kicked off their season by winning the Dunedin Falcon Invite, defeating 3A powerhouse Oceola in the process.
- Ransom Everglades HS – Ransom opened up their season by winning the Palmer Trinity Invite. They ran a pack with less than 20 seconds separating their top 5 runners. They added Gilian Carvalho to their varsity squad this year (finished 9th at FLYRA XC) and return 5 of their top 7, so they should make their way up the rankings.
- Fernandina Beach HS – Opened up their season by finishing 17th place at Cecil Field Summer Classic.
- Stanton Prep HS – Finished 20th place at Cecil Field Summer Classic.
- West Shore HS – Finished 2nd place at the Wickham Jamboree behind 3A powerhouse Satellite HS.
Individual Rankings:
Commentary: Same as above. Not all courses are the same. Head-to-head competition is heavily weighted. Lets ride!
