Individuals

  1. Marcelo Mantecon (Belen Jesuit) – Undefeated by Florida athletes this season, Mantecon has posted a 15:01 at Cecil Field and a 15:06 at the Florida Horse Park Invitational. He was runner-up at the state meet last year and is the national freshman record holder for 3200m. Marcelo placed 3rd at the Southern Showcase with a time of 15:00 but was beaten by out-of-state competition.

  2. Joseph Socarras (Belen Jesuit) – State champion in the 1600m with a PR of 4:04.53. Joseph placed 3rd at the Florida Horse Park Invitational in 15:27 and is dangerous in any close race with his 800m speed (1:51.32). He recently placed 12th at the Southern Showcase (15:39).

  3. Andrew Beroset (Gulf Breeze) – The sophomore standout was 4th at the state meet last year with a PR of 15:25. This season, he has already finished 3rd at Cecil Field (15:32), won the Gulf Coast Stampede (15:41), ran 16:15 at the Southern Showcase, and claimed victory at the Argonaut Invitational (16:09).

  4. Craig Allard (Ft. Myers) – Undefeated this season with wins at the Dunbar Tiger Jamboree (16:11) and the DDD Sommer Invitational (16:46). Craig placed 11th at the state meet last year with a time of 15:55 but has not run since the DDD Sommer Invitational.

  5. Justin Ruiz (Belen Jesuit) – Ruiz placed 14th at the Southern Showcase with a time of 15:42.64. Earlier in the season, he ran 15:42 at Cecil Field and placed 5th at the Florida Horse Park. Last year, he was 6th at the state meet and has a PR of 9:05 for 3200m.

  6. Diego Magarino (Belen Jesuit) – Magarino finished 22nd at the Southern Showcase with a time of 16:01.89. He has a season-best of 15:37 at Cecil Field and 15:45 at the Florida Horse Park Invitational.

  7. Joshua Gammage (Dillard) – Recently placed 5th at the Spanish River Invitational with a time of 15:51. Last year, he placed 12th at the state meet with a time of 15:56. On the track, his PRs are 1:54 for 800m and 4:15 for 1600m.

  8. Armando Cruz (Belen Jesuit) – Cruz placed 27th at the Southern Showcase with a time of 16:10.00. Earlier in the season, he ran 15:47 at Cecil Field and 15:48 at the Florida Horse Park Invitational.

  9. Marco Prieguez (Belen Jesuit) – Prieguez finished 32nd at the Southern Showcase with a time of 16:14.45. He opened the season with a 15:36 at Cecil Field but ran 16:12 at the Florida Horse Park Invitational.

  10. Skylar Manatt (Cypress Creek) – After finishing 15th at the state meet last year with a time of 16:04, Skylar won the Mitchel Invitational this season in 17:06. He’ll look to build momentum in the coming races.
