Week 2 Class 3A Girls Team Top 10: Florida Cross Country Rankings

Florida Class 3A girls cross country team rankings through two weeks: August 21-29, 2026

Class 3A is the deepest girls classification in Florida and the order at the top has barely moved: Bishop Kenny, Chiles, Bishop Moore, Lourdes, one through four for the second week running. Four of Florida's top eight teams across all classes are in this class.

What did change is fifth through tenth. Vanguard raced Whispering Pines and moved from seventh to fifth. Dillard and Ponte Vedra, who did not race, moved down. And Aubrey Rogers, a Naples program that was nowhere near this list a week ago, ran five girls across the line at Cape Coral inside 21 seconds of each other and is ninth.

A warning about the scores. There were 46 scoreable teams in this class a week ago. There are 66 now. Bigger field, bigger place numbers, bigger scores. Compare the order and the five-girl averages, not the points.

As always this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it did not put five runners on a rateable line and is entered on what its returners ran last November. How we sorted it all out is at the bottom. Races are not won until the kids have run. Enjoy.

About the times. Every mark below is the time the runner actually ran that day. The number in parentheses after it is what that time is worth at Cecil Field, which is what the scoring uses. On a neutral course — Cecil Field itself — there is only one number. A projected team's marks are its runners' 2025 state times.

1. Bishop Kenny — 99 points — (P)

Taylor Lawhon 18:26.0, Camila Giles 18:48.1, Jillian Jakab 19:07.8, Rebecca McEnany 19:29.2, Ava McEnany 20:02.0 on projection. Average 19:39.4 — the best in Class 3A — spread 1:36.0, finishing 6-10-14-25-44.

First a week ago, first now, and still not on a starting line. They are also the No. 2 team in Florida across all classes. The caveat is structural: they have exactly five returners with state times, which is the minimum to be ranked, and no sixth or seventh behind them in this projection. Both the Bishop Kenny boys and girls are ranked at the top of 3A on the same five-deep foundation, and neither has raced.

2. Chiles — 130 points

Cecil Field, average 19:45.4, spread 1:52.0, finishing 5-8-28-37-52. Emma-Claire Tanenbaum 18:48.0 and Kaia Ables 18:59.0, then Charlotte Sikes 20:04.0, Chloe Molen 20:16.0, Madeline Brockmeier 20:40.0, with Savannah Stanley at 21:18.0 and Katherine Baker at 21:44.0.

The best team in Class 3A that has actually raced, second for the second week running, and the only one of the top four with seven girls inside 21:44. They brought seventeen to Cecil Field. They are entered at the Florida Horse Park on Saturday, and if they run there the way they ran at Cecil, this becomes an argument rather than a projection.

3. Bishop Moore — 156 points — (P)

Annabella Tomasic 17:35.5, Ella Valentina Valenzuela 19:17.1, Lauren Susnis 19:45.6, Carolyn Susnis 20:02.3, Ava Hryciw 20:16.1 on projection. Average 19:52.1, spread 2:40.6, finishing 1-20-35-45-55.

Third to third. Tomasic is the No. 1 individual in Class 3A and won at the Florida Horse Park last September as a freshman in 17:33.3. Bishop Moore is entered there Saturday. Their spread is the third-widest in this top ten and the widest of the three teams averaging under 20:00; the gap between Tomasic and their second girl is 1:41.

4. Lourdes — 175 points

Cecil Field, average 20:10.4, spread 1:45.0, finishing 12-18-23-59-63. Sofia Jimenez 19:21.0, Alessandra Perez 19:43.0, Marisa Mantecon 19:52.0, Ava Barrera 20:50.0, Emilia Volz 21:06.0.

Fourth to fourth. Three girls inside 19:53 and a 1:45 spread, which is the second-tightest in this top ten among the teams that raced. They took twenty-six girls to the Superfly Invitational in week two, a B-squad entry that averaged 22:39.9, so the board still uses Cecil Field. Their No. 1 is 39th in Florida individually, which makes them the most evenly built team in this class.

5. Vanguard — 213 points

Whispering Pines, converted average 20:10.4 — identical to Lourdes's, to the tenth — on a 3:27.5 spread, the widest in this top ten, finishing 2-13-22-64-112.

Seventh to fifth, and it came from one runner. At Cecil Field Vanguard averaged 20:22.4; at Whispering Pines they averaged 20:10.4, and almost all of that is Reese Cartwright, who ran 20:39.0 at Cecil Field and 19:46.2 at Whispering Pines, worth 19:51.4. Lyla Hallick and Cierra Mills ran within seconds of their Cecil times. Then Annalise Hallick at 64th and Natalie Lammens at 112th, and a caution: Whispering Pines is rated +14.1 from 42 matched runners and its own median says +4.1. Under the drift test below, Vanguard drops to sixth.

6. Dillard — 223 points — (P)

Shynah Collins 19:08.4, Miley Gill 20:01.3, Peyton Williams 20:08.5, Kelly Greene 20:09.9, Maddison Simpson 20:46.9 on projection. Average 20:31.8, spread 1:38.5 — second-tightest of the projected teams in this top ten, behind Bishop Kenny.

Fifth to sixth, unraced. Their two-through-five come through in 45 seconds, which on paper is a genuinely level squad; their sixth projects at 198th. Under the week-two drift test they move back to fifth. Nothing here is real until they run.

7. Ponte Vedra — 228 points

Spikes & Spurs, converted average 20:22.5, spread 2:37.3, finishing 9-11-53-60-95. Piper Ross 19:39.7 (19:06.1) and Savannah LaVasser 19:52.6 (19:19.0) are ninth and eleventh in the class, and then a 1:25 gap to Mary Chase Fender.

Sixth to seventh, five points behind Dillard, and they have not raced since. They put forty-eight girls on the Spikes & Spurs course, the largest entry of any team on this page, so the depth exists somewhere in that group. Their whole ranking also rests on the Spikes & Spurs rating, the least reliable one we have; under the swing test they move to sixth.

8. Tavares — 354 points

Jim Ryun, converted average 21:03.5, spread 2:03.7, finishing 34-41-42-106-131. Laken Hartley 21:00.7 (20:13.6), Isabella Neal 21:12.7 (20:25.6) and Jimena Nava Garcia 21:14.9 (20:27.8) inside fourteen seconds of each other, then Sophia Maldonado and Caitlyn Noll.

Eighth to eighth. They raced again at Whispering Pines and averaged 21:44.0 there, so the board still uses Jim Ryun — and the interesting thing is which girls moved: Isabella Neal ran a faster raw time at Whispering Pines than at Jim Ryun and Laken Hartley ran a slower one. They are at the Horse Park Saturday.

9. Aubrey Rogers — 382 points

The number of the week. At the Cape Coral Seahawk Invitational, Aubrey Rogers's scoring five finished within 21.0 seconds of each other — Brooks Lyons 21:54.9 (21:16.1), Caroline Weidenmiller 21:57.0 (21:18.2), Ella Sindledecker 21:57.8 (21:19.0), Eva Atanasov 22:14.8 (21:36.0), Bowie Russell 22:15.9 (21:37.1) converted. That is the second-tightest scoring five run by any girls team in Florida this season, in any classification.

They were 21:56.9 at Lehigh a week earlier, so this was a 31.6-second improvement by the whole group at once. New to the top ten, and a straightforward team to describe: nobody is inside the class's top sixty-eight and all five are inside the top eighty-six. If any one of them finds thirty seconds, this is a top-five 3A team.

10. St. Petersburg — 444 points

Ragin' Storm XC Challenge, converted average 21:28.3, spread 2:43.3, finishing 38-58-65-117-166. Isla Trunk 20:53.8 (20:18.6), Caitlin Williams 21:23.3 (20:48.1), Ellah Durliat 21:44.2 (21:09.0), Lucy Hammond 22:39.2 (22:04.0), Isabella Grasso 23:37.1 (23:01.9).

Ninth to tenth, on the same race as a week ago. Three girls inside 21:10 and a fifth at 166th in the class: the same shape as most of this list's bottom half, and ten points clear of eleventh.

Just missed

11. Osceola (Seminole), 454. Tenth a week ago, out by ten points. Luna Mehltretter and Quynh Tollon finished 30th and 32nd in the class at Ragin' Storm, 1.6 seconds apart. 12. Fort Walton Beach, 481 — Mia Jucha is 21st in the class and their second girl is 94th.

13. South Fork, 484. 14. Fort Myers, 484 — a 1:05.4 spread at Cape Coral, the second-tightest in Class 3A behind Aubrey Rogers, and no girl inside the class's top seventy-three.

Two names not on this page. Katelin Wilcox of East Lake is the No. 2 individual in Class 3A and East Lake is 26th as a team. Lydia Vincent of Zephyrhills is fourth, and Zephyrhills cannot field a scoreable five.

How much of this is the courses?

Swing every disputed course rating to the other end of its range and the top five hold; Ponte Vedra moves to sixth ahead of Dillard, and Aubrey Rogers moves to eighth ahead of Tavares.

Take the week-two courses 7.2 seconds less generously — the size of the measured week-one-to-week-two drift for girls — and Dillard moves to fifth, Vanguard to sixth and Ponte Vedra to seventh. Nothing else changes, in either direction.

The top four of this class are stable under every reading. What is not stable is the meaning of the top three, because two of them are projections. Chiles and Bishop Moore both line up at the Florida Horse Park on Saturday, and Bishop Kenny does not.

How this works

Every August mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent using the runners who raced both that course and the 2025 state meet, matched on name and school. Each school is entered on its five fastest converted times from its single best meet — not a mix-and-match of its best days. Those five, and the sixth and seventh where they exist, are dropped into one virtual race against every other Class 3A team and scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins.

Because the field is Class 3A only, these scores are not the ones on the statewide team board. A team's rank there and here can differ: the statewide list scores it against 273 teams, this one against 66.

A school that did not field five runners on a rateable course — or that fielded five without at least two of its returning top-five scorers — is entered on its returning five's 2025 state times plus the August constant of 28.8 seconds, which is how much slower the girls' field ran in August than at the state meet. Those teams are marked (P). Five returners with state times are required, so a program with four cannot be ranked at all. Six of the twenty-nine courses run in the first two weeks could not be rated against the state meet, and results from them are not in these numbers. Classifications are the FHSAA's finalized 2026-27 lists.
