The biggest jump by any 4A girl who actually ran. Brown was 51st in 4A at state in 20:04.1 as a freshman and finished seventh in the Cecil Field Elite race in 18:50 — a 74-second improvement, in the hardest field available, ahead of two girls ranked above her here in November.
There is no conversion involved and no projection: she ran it. A sophomore who takes 74 seconds off in a summer is usually not finished. St. Thomas Aquinas ranks 11th as a team behind her and Kendall Parrott.
