Ranking writeups
#1 — 2A Girls Week 1
The 2A state champion, and the only girl in the top three of this class who showed up. Vignier won 2A last November in 18:14.7, the fastest returning mark in the class by twenty-two seconds, and she opened by finishing eighth in the Cecil Field Elite race in 18:55.0 — the deepest girls field anybody in Florida ran into this August.
It is 40 seconds off her state time, which sounds like a step back and is not: the average returner in that race gave back 28.8 seconds, and Vignier was racing Arabella Duffell, Avery Hartley and Katelin Wilcox rather than a 2A field. Eighth in that company in August is a better indicator than the number looks. Her next West Shore teammate finished 21:16, so she also ran the whole thing alone.
She is the clear number one in 2A and the only girl here with both the best returning mark and a 2026 result to stand on.
#8 — Overall Girls Week 1
The 2A state champion at 18:14.7, fourth-fastest returning mark in Florida. She ran 18:55 at Cecil for eighth, forty seconds off her state time, which is the kind of August evening a lot of good runners had on Friday. Ranked here on the strength of the title and the mark, with the opener treated as what it was.
