Team ranking writeups
#2 — 4A Girls Week 1 · 138 points
Cecil Field, third in the Elite race and third in the B race. Best five-woman average in 4A at 19:40.0, and second by two points, because the spread is 2:32.0. Eva Delaney 18:57, Emma Godfrey 19:08, Ivey Edgell 19:16, Hadleigh Roberts 19:30, then a 1:59 wait, then Elena Schultz 21:29, with Kaitlyn Chapman 21:44 and Abigail Clark 21:56.
Creekside puts four girls in the top 20 of the 4A field and Niceville puts two. The entire two-point margin is the fifth runner: 20:33 against 21:29. That is the whole ranking.
Kaitlyn Chapman, 20:22.7 at state, converts to 21:44 here and finished sixth on her own team; Emily Kate Longmire, 20:37.4 at state, did not race. Either of them at their November level makes Creekside No. 1 in 4A comfortably. Preseason they were second in the class at 125.
#5 — 4A Boys Week 1 · 265 points
Cecil Field. Average 16:57.8, spread 1:30.0. Eli Scharf 16:21, Samuel Cassiani 16:33, Bryce Cunningham 16:51, Chase Petrick 17:13, Spencer Halasz 17:51, with Zachary Thomas 18:10 and Harrison Lafser 18:17 next.
One of these five was at the 2025 state meet. Scharf, Cunningham, Petrick and Halasz are all new to the board, and Scharf's 16:21 as a No. 1 is 19th in the 4A field. There is no returning-team projection worth comparing this to, which cuts both ways: nothing about Creekside's placement is inherited, and nothing about it is corroborated.
#3 — Overall Girls Week 1 · 336
The best five-man average in Florida at 19:40.0 and third on the list, which is the argument for scoring rather than averaging in a single line.
Eva Delaney 18:57, Emma Godfrey 19:08, Ivey Edgell 19:16, Hadleigh Roberts 19:30 — four girls inside 19:30, more than any team in the state, projected or otherwise. Then Elena Schultz at 21:29 and a 2:32 spread.
Note that Creekside now sits ahead of Chiles. On the raced-only version of this list Chiles was second and Creekside third. Dropping five projected teams into the field rewards a deep top four more than it rewards a tight pack, and the two of them swapped. Take the eight points between them as noise.
#9 — Overall Boys Week 1 · 624
Cecil Field, 16:57.8, spread 1:30, Eli Scharf 16:21 and Samuel Cassiani 16:33. Two returners from state, so like Flagler they are ranked mostly on new evidence, and unlike Flagler they got there without a front-runner.
