About
Ocala Distance Project (ODP) is one of Florida's premier youth distance running programs, developing elite competitive runners from elementary through high school. Led by Head Coach Darrin DeTorres — former head coach at Trinity Catholic and assistant coach at Vanguard High School — ODP has produced 10+ state champions across cross country, 800m, 1500m, 3200m, and the 4x800 relay, as well as AAU National Cross Country Champion Joey Fitzpatrick. ODP alumni have gone on to run collegiately at the University of North Florida and compete at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. The program takes a holistic approach combining physical conditioning, mental preparation, nutrition guidance, and modern technology including Garmin and Strava integration.
