9/11 Remembrance "Live Virtual" 5k/10k

THIS IS THE REGISTRATION PAGE FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2026 EVENT

The 9/11 Remembrance "Live Virtual" 5k/10k. In honor of those fallen, those survived, and those affected on September 11th 2001. You will always be in our hearts, on our minds, and in our spirits. We will never forget 9/11/2001.

Join us from anywhere on Saturday September 5, 2026. This is no ordinary virtual race. It's a unique "live virtual" running event, with tens of thousands of runners who have already experienced and love our unique "live virtual" race format.  Run or walk anywhere you like, while other participants all over the country run and walk with you.  Among other things, there is a scheduled race date and start time (Saturday September 5th at 8am Eastern time USA), a virtual check in and start via Text or Facebook live-stream on race day morning (via text  for non-Facebook users), timekeeping (runners will text screenshots or pictures of their chosen method of time and distance keeping), a private and active Facebook group dedicated to our "live virtual" runners, and custom engraving for the back of the medal for age group and overall winners. All participants will receive the custom limited edition 9/11 Remembrance medal, with age group winners receiving the engraving for their medal back. ******* If you cannot or do not wish to participate on the scheduled race date, you can absolutely still register. Please select the "medal only" option. But, keep in mind, you won't be eligible for age group awards (engraving for your medal) or to be counted among the "official" times posted after race day. For this option, medals will ship about 1 week prior to the race date (sometimes sooner). 

All registered runners should join the Virtual Races by Relevant Running private Facebook Group for access to positive discussions and posts regarding our "live virtual" races, race day live-stream virtual check-in and virtual start. Please note: joining the Facebook group is NOT required to participate. We have text check-in for non-Facebook participants.

Race Date and start time: Saturday September 5th 2026. Virtual check-in via text or live-stream in the Facebook group above starts at 7:00am Eastern time USA. Virtual race start at 8:00am Eastern time USA. The live-stream will be going while you are running, and we will be waiting for you to complete your 5k or 10k during the race day window of 8am to 11am Eastern time USA (we take late check-ins up to 11am Eastern time). As noted above, if you cannot or do not wish to participate on/at the scheduled race date/time during the race day window, you can absolutely still register using the "medal only" option. But, you won't be eligible for age group awards (engraving on your medal) or to be counted among the "official" times posted after race day.

Pricing includes shipping as quoted by USPS, and the registration link is priced to include shipping costs within the Continental United States. Any runners outside the Continental United States may have an extra shipping charge, and will be contacted by the Race Director with the amount (if applicable). 

Timekeeping: Given the unique nature of each runner's situation, we will accept proof of completed 5k or 10k on race day via text (to be provided in pre-race emails). For example: Treadmill runners may text a picture of their treadmill console. Or, phone app users may screenshot their completed run on their phone app and text the picture. Or, runners using a watch may snap a pic of their watch-face and text it in. You may run or walk in any way that is safe, legal, and ethical in your area. This may be on a treadmill, trail, track, beach, sidewalk, laps around your house, laps inside your house, etc. It is entirely the runner's choice, and responsibility to follow all your own local laws, directives, regulations, etc.

Results will be published in the Facebook Group and emailed.
