Cooper's CURE-ageous 5K Trail Race
About This Event
In July of 2024 while vacationing with his family in the Florida Keys two-year-old Cooper Steadman was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Procedures, blood tests, transfusions, and chemotherapy began the morning after his diagnosis and became constant activities in his life. Cooper was hospitalized on his third birthday and spent most of his third year of life in hospitals with his family by his side. Our community came together in an unimaginable show of support with prayer, donations, and genuine concern. The community support and unrelenting prayers got our family through some very dark times. Cooper was healed in heaven on July 8th, 2025. In remembrance and honor of Cooper’s warrior spirit and out of compassion for the families who are in or will be in the unimaginable battle against childhood cancer we have formed the Cooper Steadman Foundation.
This race will be a 5K trail race at Halpatiokee Park. The funds raised from this event will go towards families of children battling the same awful disease our son did. We went through the unimaginable, but it's people like you in this community that held us up. We're hoping and praying we can continue to do the same for the families still in the fight.
