About This Event

Welcome Triathlon Race Fans, to the 2026 Hammerhead Olympic & Sprint Distance Triathlon! The HOT event is held at the beautiful Camp Blanding Military Reservation, which is about 30 miles Southwest of Jacksonville.  Aquabike available in both Sprint and Olympic distances.

RACE LOCATION: Camp Blanding 5629 State Road 16 West Bldg 2300, Avenue A Starke, FL 32091

PRE-RACE PACKET PICKUP:

Saturday:  12:00pm - 3:00pm   Neutral Service; 323 10th Ave North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 (Directions)

No Early Pickup at Camp Blanding on Saturday. Packets will be available on Sunday morning

**RACE DAY SCHEDULE: **6:00am - 7:00am Packet Pickup and Transition Opens

7:15am - Transition Closes FOR ALL ATHLETES, Sprint and Olympic

7:30am - First Wave Start**

**The swim will be in Kingsley Lake which is one of the state’s pristine waterways (no salt water and no sharks!) and usually very smooth for a fast race. The bike course will be entirely within Camp Blanding with little, if any, traffic, but with a few rolling hills (two loops – one loop for the Sprint distance). The run will be a flat out and back (with little shade) but with plenty of aid stations.

**Course Cut-Off Times: **(Apply to Olympic only) • Swim (1 hour from last Olympic wave start time) • Bike (2 hours and 45 minutes from last Olympic wave start time) • Finish (4 hours from last Olympic wave start time)

SPRINT TRIATHLON COURSE

  • SWIM 1/4 mile in the the clear Fresh Water of  Lake Kingsley. The Swim Course is a single loop.
  • BIKE 20K (12.2 Miles) on a single loop with an out and back tail through the rolling hills and tall pines on base.
  • RUN 5K (3.1 miles) out and back with water available at miles 1 and 2

  OLYMPIC TRIATHLON COURSE

  • SWIM 1.5K (.93 Miles) in the the clear Fresh Water of  Lake Kingsley. The Swim Course is a single loop.
  • BIKE 40K on a double loop with an out and back tail through the rolling hills and tall pines on base.
  • RUN 10K (6.2 miles) out and back with 7 Water Station on the Course

SPRINT DUATHLON COURSE

  • RUN 2 miles out and back with the turnaround at the water station.  Start is simultaneous with the first wave.
  • BIKE 20K (12.2 Miles) on a single loop with an out and back tail through the rolling hills and tall pines on base.
  • RUN 5K (3.1 miles) out and back with water available at miles 1 and 2

SPRINT AQUABIKE COURSE

  • SWIM 1/4 mile in the the clear Fresh Water of  Lake Kingsley. The Swim Course is a single loop.

OLYMPIC AQUABIKE COURSE

** ENTRY TO CAMP BLANDING PROCEDURES:** All athletes will check in at the front gate. You will receive a "Gate Pass" that will be included with your athlete packet, which will be sent to you the Thursday prior to the race.  Present this pass to speed the entry process.  Your name will be on the Triathlon Roster. You will need a non-expired Photo ID. Any family or friends that would like to come on base to watch MUST go to the website, www.HammerheadOlympicTriathlon.com, click the "Register" button and complete the VISITOR/GUEST PASS REQUEST by midnight on Wednesday, August 5th. Their name will then be on the roster at the front gate, they'll present their photo ID and they will be allowed access to the race. Family and friends will not be required to sign a race waiver. AGAIN....FAMILY & FRIENDS WISHING TO ATTEND THE EVENT MUST REGISTER AT THE WEBSITE BY WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5th, so their name(s) will be on the roster. If they do not, they will be allowed access to Camp Blanding.  NO EXCEPTIONS can be made. The Registration deadline for all participants is also August 5th!

Awards are three (3) Deep in ALL Categories including 5-Year Age Groups.

The Hammerhead Tri Club is not eligible to win.

Racing for a REASON!

Proceeds from the Hammerhead Olympic & Sprint Triathlon have always gone to organizations who provide the volunteer services needed to have a successful event.  

The Florida Youth Challenge Academy are volunteers at water stations, food prep and serve for athletes post-race, and strike of event.

The 211th Regional Training Institute Division provide the volunteers for parking, transition, all the bike course coverage, and back up timing at transition and the finish line.

Two NJROTC units (Clay High School and Fleming Island High School) volunteer on the bike course and the run course.
