Bolles has raced once, on August 21, and two weekends of everybody else running has moved them nowhere. Behind them McKeel raced and jumped to third, Berkeley Prep raced and fell, and Lake Highland Prep took 32 seconds off its average in eight days.
Florida Class 2A boys cross country team rankings through two weeks: August 21-29, 2026
Nothing has happened to Bolles. They ran once, on August 21, put thirty-two boys on the Cecil Field course and scored 44 points in Class 2A with their best returning runner still on the sideline. Two weekends of racing by everybody else has moved them exactly nowhere, which is the point: they are 38 clear of the No. 2 team in the class and 140 clear of the No. 3.
What did change is behind them. McKeel raced for the first time and jumped from eighth to third, Berkeley Prep raced and fell, and Lake Highland Prep took thirty-two seconds off its Cecil Field average in eight days and arrived in the top ten.
A warning about the scores. There were 31 scoreable teams in this class a week ago. There are 68 now. Bigger field, bigger place numbers, bigger scores — Bolles opened at 45 and sits at 44 here, and did not change at all. Compare the order and the five-man averages, not the points.
As always this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it did not put five runners on a rateable line and is entered on what its returners ran last November. How we sorted it all out is at the bottom for anyone who wants it. Races are not won until the kids have run. Enjoy.
About the times. Every mark below is the time the runner actually ran that day. The number in parentheses after it is what that time is worth at Cecil Field, which is what the scoring uses. On a neutral course — Cecil Field itself — there is only one number. A projected team's marks are its runners' 2025 state times.
The 2A individuals are here, and the week 1 edition of this list is here. Statewide: week 2 boys top 10 and the week 1 boys team top 10. The other class team lists this week: 1A boys, 3A boys, 4A boys and 2A girls.
1. Bolles — 44 points
Cecil Field, five-man average 16:37.6, spread 0:56.0, finishing 2-6-8-12-16 in Class 2A with the sixth and seventh at 19th and 25th. Brantley Rigdon 16:04.0, Aidan Chandler 16:28.0, Armaan Sharma 16:44.0, Wyatt Cleek 16:52.0, Vincent Barragan 17:00.0, Luke Meiners 17:05.0, Henry Camp 17:18.0.
Seven runners inside the first twenty-five of a sixty-eight-team class. Aaron Ches still has not finished a cross country race in 2026 — he did not finish at Cecil and has not appeared in a result since, and his 16:26.1 from last November is the seventh-fastest returning mark in 2A. Bolles is fourth in Florida across all classes and the only 2A team on the statewide board that got there by racing. They are entered at the Florida Horse Park on Saturday.
2. Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest) — 82 points — (P)
Adrian Iziliaev 16:23.9, Emilio Perez-Garcia 16:43.5, Tyler Keating 16:53.8, Christopher Arana 17:08.6, Nicolas Altaba 17:30.2, with Aston Conrad 17:31.9 as a sixth. Projected average 16:56.6, spread 1:06.3.
Two weeks, no meet, no JV squad, nobody, anywhere. Second in the class and twelfth in Florida entirely on what five of them ran last November. The number says that a Gulliver running exactly to last year's form loses to Bolles by 38 points; it says nothing at all about whether they are running to last year's form. They are entered at the Horse Park Saturday, which will finally settle it.
3. McKeel — 184 points
The biggest move in the class. McKeel had not raced when we published a week ago and sat eighth on projection. At the Lake Region Invitational on August 29 they ran, and the front of it is real: Aidan Alam 16:46.8 (16:13.4) and Cal Howard 16:56.5 (16:23.1) converted, third and fourth among all 2A team scorers, finishing 3-4 in the class field.
Then it stops. Nolan O'Steen at 17:50.6 (17:17.2) is 24th, and Lucas Caram-Andruet and Michael Danner are 73rd and 80th. A 2:14 spread and only seven boys in the race. The best 1-2 in Class 2A and the second-widest five in this top ten in the same team.
4. Dunedin — 222 points
Jim Ryun, converted average 17:38.8, spread 1:54.4, finishing 11-21-44-50-96. Jeffery Tanner Turley 17:28.4 (16:50.2), Braden Workman 17:48.4 (17:10.2), Owen Kalshoven 18:18.5 (17:40.3), William Vricos 18:26.7 (17:48.5), then 56 seconds to Carson Bews.
Third a week ago, fourth now, and nothing about them has changed — they have not raced since opening weekend. Four runners inside the first fifty of the class and a fifth at 96th is still the whole story. Move Bews up to his fourth man's place and Dunedin scores 176 and is third.
5. Calvary Christian (Clearwater) — 243 points
Cecil Field, average 17:43.0, spread 2:01.0, finishing 14-23-39-57-110. Luke LaHaye 16:53.0, Maximus Brown 17:14.0, Logan Milo 17:36.0, Cooper Dixon 17:58.0, Connor Wichmann 18:54.0, with Tucker Magnotta on the same 18:54.0.
Fourth to fifth, on no new information. Their sixth man is effectively tied with their fifth, which usually means the gap is one runner wide rather than structural, and they have three weeks of racing to prove it.
6. Lake Highland Prep — 304 points
New to the top ten and the clearest week-two improvement in 2A. At Cecil Field on August 21 Lake Highland averaged 18:34.4. At the Kowboy Invitational on August 29 they averaged a converted 18:02.2 — better by 32.2 seconds — on a 0:58.7 spread, third-tightest among teams in this class that have actually raced.
Santiago Salazar, Colten Scheuplein and Evan Okaty came through inside sixteen seconds of each other, and Zachary Chaet replaced Christopher Herbert in the scoring five. This is what a team looks like when the whole group moves rather than one runner.
7. Wolfson — 306 points
Cecil Field, average 18:02.4, spread 1:16.0, finishing 36-38-54-75-103. Joseph Barry 17:34.0 and Ryan Robinson 17:35.0 a second apart, Nathan Kilgore 17:53.0, Joseph Morgenthal 18:20.0, Rian Naik 18:50.0, and Harper Galke a second behind Naik.
Fifth a week ago, seventh now, two points behind Lake Highland Prep, and they lost those two points by standing still. Their five-man average and their spread are both better than most of what is around them; two teams that raced in week two simply passed them.
8. Episcopal — 360 points
Cecil Field, average 18:15.8, spread 1:07.0. Grayson Smith and Rick Schultz tied at 17:39.0, then Dylan Patterson 18:34.0, William Bunch 18:41.0, Chase Fallucco 18:46.0, with Joshua Oche also at 18:46.0.
Ninth to eighth. Six runners inside 18:47 and four of them inside twelve seconds of each other — the third-tightest scoring five in this top ten among teams that raced, behind Bolles and Lake Highland Prep. What they do not have is a front runner: their fastest boy is 42nd in the class field.
9. Berkeley Prep — 390 points
They raced, and it cost them. Berkeley was seventh on projection a week ago. At Whispering Pines they posted a converted 18:17.9 average on a 2:34.2 spread — the widest in this top ten — finishing 27-46-58-83-176.
Cole Galuski at 17:35.6 (17:21.5) was the fastest of the five and ran slower than his own projection; Rai Mehta and Colin Maloney backed him up inside 18:00, and then Tim Paige and Fisher Livingston are 83rd and 176th. Four-fifths of a good 2A team. They are at the Horse Park Saturday.
10. American Heritage (Delray Beach) — 413 points — (P)
Anthony Barajas 18:13.6, Tyler Schiff 18:18.8, Thomas Kennedy 18:20.3, Dean Sincavage 18:37.1, Cenex Fleurigene, Jr. 18:52.5 on projection. Average 18:29.1, and a 0:38.9 spread that is the tightest of any team in Class 2A, raced or projected.
Tenth in week one, tenth now, and still not on a starting line. That 0:38.9 is the most interesting unverified number in the class: five boys who finished within thirty-nine seconds of each other at the state meet, and a sixth man three minutes back. If the sixth improves, this is a top-five team. If the front five have not held, none of it matters.
Just missed
11. West Shore, 417. Jacob White, Calum Daut and Landon Plechaty finished 34-37-40 at the Kowboy inside 5.6 seconds of each other, and then nobody came for nearly two minutes. 12. Suwannee, 466 — five inside 0:56 at Cecil Field, without Logan Haley, who is the No. 9 individual in the class and has not raced.
13. Cocoa Beach, 481. Sixth in week one on projection; they hosted their own Tuesday-night meet in week two, and the race produced a 3:12 spread and dropped them seven places. 14. Eastside, 517 — Luke Engels is seventh in the class field and their second man is 60th.
Two names not on this page. Will Moss of Montverde is the defending 2A state champion and the No. 1 individual in the class; Montverde has not entered a meet and does not have five returners with state times, so there is no way to score them. Frederick Gunther of Pensacola Catholic ran 16:57.2 at Pine Forest, worth 15:55.4 at Cecil and the fastest mark of any 2A team scorer, and Pensacola Catholic is 15th.
How much of this is the courses?
Swing every disputed course rating to the other end of its range and the top five hold exactly. Behind them, Wolfson moves back ahead of Lake Highland Prep to sixth, and Berkeley Prep drops out of the top ten entirely, replaced by West Shore.
Take the week-two courses 13.2 seconds less generously — the size of the measured week-one-to-week-two drift for boys — and the same swap happens at six and seven, American Heritage moves to ninth and Berkeley Prep to tenth. Bolles, Gulliver, McKeel, Dunedin and Calvary Christian are first through fifth in every version of this board.
How this works
Every August mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent using the runners who raced both that course and the 2025 state meet, matched on name and school. Each school is entered on its five fastest converted times from its single best meet — not a mix-and-match of its best days. Those five, and the sixth and seventh where they exist, are dropped into one virtual race against every other Class 2A team and scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins.
Because the field is Class 2A only, these scores are not the ones on the statewide team board. A team's rank there and here can differ: the statewide list scores it against 319 teams, this one against 68.
A school that did not field five runners on a rateable course — or that fielded five without at least two of its returning top-five scorers — is entered on its returning five's 2025 state times plus the August constant, and marked (P). Five returners with state times are required, so a program with four cannot be ranked at all. Seven of the twenty-nine courses run in the first two weeks could not be rated against the state meet, and results from them are not in these numbers. Classifications are the FHSAA's finalized 2026-27 lists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the No. 1 Class 2A boys cross country team in Florida in Week 2? expand_more
Bolles, on 44 points, unchanged from week one. They put seven runners inside the first twenty-five of a 68-team class field at Cecil Field on a 0:56.0 spread, and they are fourth in Florida across all classes.
Has Aaron Ches raced yet in 2026? expand_more
No. He did not finish at Cecil Field on August 21 and has not appeared in a result since. His 16:26.1 from the 2025 state meet is the seventh-fastest returning mark in Class 2A, and Bolles's 44 points do not include a single point from him.
Why is Montverde Academy not in the Class 2A team rankings? expand_more
Montverde has not entered a meet in two weeks and does not have five returners with 2025 state times, which is the minimum required to be ranked on projection. Will Moss is the defending 2A state champion and the No. 1 individual in the class, but there is no way to score his team.
Which Class 2A boys team improved the most in week two? expand_more
Lake Highland Prep. They averaged 18:34.4 at Cecil Field on August 21 and a converted 18:02.2 at the Kowboy Invitational on August 29, a 32.2-second improvement, on a 0:58.7 spread. It moved them into the top ten for the first time.
