Marcelo Mantecon is a freshman cross-country runner from Belen Jesuit Prep, a renowned institution in Florida’s competitive distance running scene. Hailing from a school with a storied athletic tradition, Mantecon has rapidly risen as one of its standout athletes.

In his early running career, Marcelo has displayed an exceptional blend of raw talent and dedication. His accomplishments are highlighted by leading his team at the Nike Cross Nationals as an 8th grader, where he managed an impressive 68th-place finish. Remarkably, he was the sole 8th grader participating in this prestigious event that saw the best high school runners nationwide.

Furthermore, Mantecon’s recorded times showcase his caliber as a distance runner:

  • 1500 Meter Run: 4:10.39
  • 1600 Meter Run: 4:25.00
