The high school cross country season is about to kick off in Florida, and one of the first big meets is the Preseason Preview happening on August 12th at the beautiful Sand Hill Scout Reservation in Brooksville. This 1,212 acre camp located at 11210 Cortez Blvd will host runners from all over the area looking to test their summer training.

Races include a youth 2k that starts at 9:05am, an open 3k that starts at 8:30am, and an open 5k that starts at 7:30am. Runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to sign up and participate in this early season event. The scenic courses wind through the forests and fields of the camp.

Registration is just $12 and can be completed online at the RunSignUp.com page for the Preseason Preview. This low-key event is a great opportunity to shake off the summer rust before the high school season gets into full swing. Don’t miss out on this exciting kickoff to the cross country season!
